CINDI Survey
This study is being conducted by Ryce Hailes and Diana Del Angel with the Harte Research Institute at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. This survey is part of a project funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Restore program.
The survey questions are designed to help the project team understand how people value waterbirds and their nesting habitats, identify if and how people interact with waterbird habitat, and any issues or concerns that the community may have regarding nesting habitat restoration. The information collected will be used to develop a prioritization tool that will assist natural resource managers in prioritizing rookery island restoration that are cost-effective and maximize benefits to waterbirds. The survey should take you around 15-20 minutes to complete.
All information collected is anonymous and no identifiers will be collected from you. No identifiers linking you to the study will be included in any report that might be published or presented, and only information that is needed will be shared. Once data analysis is complete, any identifiers will be removed from the data. Once de-identified, this data could be distributed to another investigator for future research studies without additional informed consent from the subject or the legally authorized representative.
This research involves minimal risk (risks that you may experience in everyday life, even if you do not participate in this study). Your participation will involve collecting information about your perceptions and knowledge about waterbirds and their habitats. There is a risk of loss of confidentiality. Your confidentiality will be protected to the greatest extent possible. You do not have to provide any information to the study that you do not want to give.
